In the works:
Barnstormer 120 grain HB .45 bullets

In our neverending quest to explore the full range of possibilites
with the Cowboy .45 Special cartridge, we've prototyped a
hollow-based, light for caliber bullet designed to run slow enough to
shoot near to point of aim, and to shoot at a velocity very near the
SASS-minimum power factor.

The idea is simple.  We wanted a bullet that would expand the range
of possible uses of our .45 Colt revolvers so that we could load them
at any SASS-legal level we desire, from warthog to the minimum
allowed.

Once and for all the .45 could be on a level playing field with any
SASS main match gun.

A custom mold was ordered that allowed casting of hollow based
bullets in the range of about 100 to 150 grains.  So far the best tests
have been accomplished with 120 grain bullets running under 600
fps with smokeless, and at about 750 FPS with Goex (shows
potential with similarly powered subs).  A "minimum smoke rule"
load of 777 FFG worked dandy as well, using a nitro card to reduce
case capacity further.

We're currently conducting a reader poll:
If you could buy 120 grain HB bullets, would ya give em a try?
If you could buy a mold to cast them (HB molds are single cavity),
would you prefer to go that route

compete head to head with .38s

Depending on reader input, we may make the bullets available.
