The Cowboy Carrier is a reality! This carrier allows the use of Cowboy .45 Special (or .44 Russian) ammo in appropriate (.45 Colt or .44 Special) rifles. Designed by Adirondack Jack and engineered by Happy Trails, The Cowboy Carrier includes an innovative pivoting, positive action cartridge stop that is a so slick in action, you won't know it's there. We have a version for the '66 and '73 rifles, as well as a '60 Henry version. '66 owners take note. No more broken ladles with this design, as the cartridges don't slam into the ladle, but rather, come to rest against a positive stop as shown above. Minor gunsmithing required. (a .020 deep flat filed on the side of the bolt). Cowboy Carrier Installation Instructions Cowboy Carrier installation instructions |

Update as of 6/23/08: We're caught up with our backlog, but stock levels remain low. At this writing we have a handful of '60 Henry carriers in stock and ONE '66/73 carrier on the shelf. More carriers are being made, and eventually we'll have a stable supply. Just now it's still touch and go. Delays of 2-4 weeks may be experienced as orders exceed stock levels. Backorders are being accepted. For up to the minute info on stock levels or projected delays, call 518-773-8739 or email info@cowboy45special.com with the words "carrier stock level" in subject line In the event we're out of stock on the carrier you need when your order is received, orders will be numbered upon receipt, and filled strictly on a first come, first served basis. Please be sure to include your SASS alias if appropriate, specify, 60 Henry, '66 or '73 rifle, and let us know whether it will be used for .44 Russian or Cowboy .45 Special ammo. INCLUDE AN EMAIL ADDRESS so we may keep you up to date on your order status. To get your Cowboy Carrier, send a check or money order for $169 to: Adirondack Jack's Trading Post 29 Union Street Broadalbin, NY 12025 Electronic ordering will not be accepted until stock levels stabilize. We can't exactly tell when that will be, but suffice to say , demand is overruning supply at least for the short term. (If we woulda made 300, nobody woulda bought one. So we made a couple dozen to "try out" the idea, and got run over with interest. Your patience is appreciated!!!) |
